Tool 10: Exploring Mobile Technology And Apps

IPod can be used to read, digital libraries are so common now that students can heard their stories as many time they want, used closed captions to help them with writing, spelling, and enhance they learning of a second language if they are in a dual language programs while having fun. Also can be incorporated iPods in the rotation of reading, math, and science centers in class. My grandson that is only 2 years old is able to follow stories, hear music and enjoy his favorite cartoon SpongeBob in his mommy iPod. Many great uses to keep the students learning and enjoying learning at the same time in a different way. I'm having a hard time uploading my videos, so after many attempts I decide just to attach a very interesting video about math games to used in you ipod.

Tool#9 Jing and Skype

What I like about Jing is how you can communicate and give information either through e-mail or instant messaging and adding pictures or videos to be more visual in your communication with the other person. This is what I need because I’m a very visual person, and if we have this tool to use it, it will absolutely enhance our online conversation with colleagues and friends.

Skype will be very interesting to students especially if they are able to communicate with other students in other countries that speak English and Spanish. This will help students to converse and share ideas related to same concepts of learning in class. Skype is already used in other countries and it’s a great tool of communication when you have a family outside USA, without breaking your bank in phone calls to keep in touch with family and friends

#7 PhotoStory

PhotoStory was one of my grand challenges that took a lot of my time. The music, pictures, and the preparation of the video was worth the effort at the end. My students will enjoy doing a PhotoStory to either write experiences, reflections, or do a presentation in class after a field trip, experiment or project.

Tool #8: Video Resources

United streaming is one of the tools that I used in my class to teach different subject of Science. I love the images, the narration and I believe its one of the good extra complement to used in my class. So far I'm using also Brain Pop, but I'm planning to explore the other video resources presented in the 11 tools.

Tool #6: Wikis

This tool is really helpful with different writing assignments for example reflections in math and science. Students also can participate to share strategies in solving word problems. Wiki can also help teachers when planning an important group meetings or adding ideas to important news letters that we send home to parents.

Tool # 5 Tagging and Social Bookmarking

The first link I found that would be helpful for my self and my students is from simple machines it helps students interact and also learn the difference of simple machines that they can fine around us. http://www.edheads.org/activities/simple-machines/

The second link I used is from math elapse time where students can learn from using sounds, reading and following steps to solve the problem. Its very useful i love the way how bilingue students can practice also their english. http://teacher.scholastic.com/maven/timefor/index.htm

, Maybe it's not surprising that a flat surface touched by thousands of fingers would end up harboring some nasty critters, but the Daily News has a word to the wise for iPad shoppers in the Big Apple: BYO hand sanitizer. The paper surreptitiously swabbed and cultured samples from iPads at the 5th Avenue flagship store and at the unfortunately-nicknamed "Meatpacking" store on W. 14th Street. Turns out those oleophobic screens don't repel everything. One of the cultures turned up Staphylococcus aureus, a nasty pathogen that's responsible for skin infections and other illnesses. Another showed less-virulent yeast and bacterial contamination.Apple insists that it keeps the iPads clean and that the stores are a healthy environment... but perhaps a small dispenser of antibacterial wipes would be in order. In the meantime, before and after playing with those iPads -- wash your hands!Note: As commenters have pointed out, the Daily News neglected to sample other commonly-touched items like subway railings and doorhandles -- chances are they would have found similar bugs in those places, too.
