Blog#2

The point that stood me up the most is to see how everybody agrees that technology is here to help us communicate, learned and helps each other in the comfort of seating either in our couch, office chair or even enjoying a delicious Starbucks coffee. It will take a while to reach what we want to learn but we are not alone, there are now many experts online now to help us and guide us to get throughout this process of 21th century.

  1. Hi Maribel,

You stated, "It will take a while to reach what we want to learn but we are not alone, there are now many experts online now to help us and guide us to get throughout this process of 21st century." This is so true. I feel comfortable with technology but I know it will take me a while to repeat the steps to create a blog to my students tomorrow. They do say that practice makes perfect soooo, I'll keep practicing until I can share with others.

  2. Uh! No couch here, but considering the computer time is long and strenous, I should consider it. I'm not a big fan of seating in front of a computer chatting, but I will conform to it if I can get infoamtion from the tube. When I started my life in technology, I was progamming in machine language and a floppy disk was the size of an LP record. There wasn't much information then to access, now there is a lot, but a lot of it is not correct. Still, I'm glad we have a tool to share ideas and information, that should make the teaching experience more rewarding.

  3. Hello my dear friend and comadre,
I am new in this endeavor just like you and I am happy we are on the same boat (again).
I having a feeling similar to the one I had when I first saw the active boards; (aprehensive is the word) Now, I can't live without MY interactive board. I am sure this will be the same. I'm already starting to feel better about all this.

  5. Hi Mabel,
I agree with Ana's comments. I was (am) scare of this new "thing". I know we have to teach using technology, but one thing is to know it and other is to do it. My experience blogging brought me an anecdote somebody told me years ago. There was an old man sitting at his computer while calling to his bank. He was very upset for not been reported on his bank statement a deposit he said he did. The teller asked him when and where he did that deposit. Then, the old man, still disturbed, said “it was two weeks ago. I opened the small door and placed an envelop with money in it”. The teller asked him more questions to figure it out in what door he did put that envelope. Finally, the old man said “Listen, I don’t know why you are asking me such questions. I’m right here looking at that door”. The teller asked him to open the small opening at his computer (where the floppy discs used to go). The old man found the envelop and the money inside it. So, I know I need to use technology…maybe I just need to open the door = )
